Pamela Jordan: News

"Where Have They Been Hiding You?" - May 24, 2009

Pamela, where have they been hiding you?

What an incredible disc, what an incredible voice and what an incredible CD. From the first song to the last it was so enjoyable.

I hope one day I see that you will be appearing in the Savannah, GA area. I will be sitting front row center. And it also wouldn't surprise me to see your name appearing on one of the late night talk shows as the musical guest. You have beauty, brains (teaching and writing), and talent.

All the best,

FANTASTIC!

Every once in a while you come across an album that you just can't put down, and this is one of them. There is not one bad track on this album! I present a late night album show on our station and this is just great music to relax by at the end of the day. Keep up the good work, Pamela, and hopefully we can expect some more of this kind of great material in the not too distant future. Well done!

A Jazz Lover's Review - January 30, 2009

Pamela's smooth vocals are soothing, a good wind down elixir. She wrote all of the tunes, some with help from Brian Christopher. Her fresh style is unique and it reminds us of Sade in some ways. Gary Ogan provides strong backup on guitar, keyboards and backing vocals. The groove is a soft R&B/Pop blend with mild jazzy accompaniment. We liked "Things I Didn't Say", "So It Goes", "Waiting", the reggae beats of “Love’s Grand Design" and the heartbreaking lyrics of "Into Thin Air".

Your cd "The Fall Of Love" Pamela is a delicious mixture of styles, sounds and feels mixed delightfully together in a style bending tasty mix. Whether it was Latin to Carribean to R&B to Jazz, it all just worked so well to produce and album of your very own songs that feel so good. Here is an album that you just can't wait to hear the next track that will be full of so much light and shade that you feel as though we are being taken somewhere by you Pamela. Your vocals are silken honey and your band never once become self indulgent but rather just sit back and let your voice be the center of attention, just as it should be. This is not to say the band is bland as they demostrate throughout your album they in themselves are a very accomplished outfit.Congratulations on delightfully delicious cd.

The Fall of Love: A Glowing Review!! - December 2, 2008

Pamela Jordan’s cd, The Fall of Love is a showcase of her immense talent. Not only does she have a voice that ranges from sensual and sensitive to powerful, but she is obviously the complete musician playing keyboards, percussion and guitar. Her songs are warm and rich and she knows how to get the best out of her well crafted lyrics. The arrangements are simple, slick and catchy. Every one of the ten songs is immensely playable on radio although I do have my favourites; the title track, Into Thin Air, Waiting and Love’s Grand Design. Special moments of the cd I enjoyed were the guitar work by Erick Hailstone on The Fall of Love, Paul Mazzio’s trumpet phrases on Things I Didn’t Say and Into Thin Air. For something different on the cd, Pamela introduced the reggae influence of Love’s Grand Design, highlighting Craig Russell’s catchy style on organ. Pamela has got it all; a wonderful classically-trained voice, the ability to write first-class tunes and a knack of getting the best out of an arrangement. This is a must for collectors of good quality smooth jazz music.
